With all of the uncertainty in the world these days, I have found comfort in letting my mind wander into a good book. I have been doing a lot of reading the past few weeks and highly suggest anyone who is looking for some entertainment other than TV, to look into reading a good book.
I can not recommend this book enough. “Such A Fun Age” is my favorite book I have read so far this year. The story of a babysitter wrongfully accused of kidnapping the child she is sitting for turns into a story of race, privilege, romance and decision making. Basically a tale that is nothing you expect it to be.
2. Little Fires Everywhere, Celeste Ng
Despite what you may have heard about this book, I recommend giving it the fair chance it deserves. Added bonus it was just turned into a Hulu Original. Since you now have so much time on your hand why not read the book, then binge watch the show and compare the two.
3. The Husband’s Secret, Laine Moriarty
If you a looking for a book with a really wild plot twist, then this one is for you. This is the story of three women whose lives are all interconnected in the worst way possible. (A way that truly will have you saying holy sh*t by the end of it.) If you are a fan of Big Little Lies then this one is for you.
4. Love The One You’re With, Emily Giffin
I live for a good romance novel. Everything by Emily Giffin is absolutely amazing but this one takes the cake. If you ever have had to make a decision between two men in your life, you’re absolutely relate to this one. If you are looking for a little romance to spice up your quarantine, this one is for you too.
5. My Friend Anna, Rachel DeLoache Williams
If you know the back story on Anna Delvey, the con artist, then you’ll definitely want to read Rachel Williams first hand account on being friends with Anna herself. “My Friend Anna” is set to be turned into a Netflix Original and if you love a good book/movie comparison you definitely want to get a heard start reading this one.
6. Buy Yourself The F*cking Lilies, Tara Schuster
Tara Schuster is an executive at Comedy Central who has the most inspirational story. If you have ever felt like you have hit your lowest point possible in life and there is no return, you will absolutely find inspiration from Tara’s story.
7. The Upside of Being Down, Jen Gotch
Another inspirational story, Jen Gotch, founder of Ban.do shares her personal story on struggling with mental illness. Jen’s story shows that you really can turn a struggle or negative into something so amazing.
8. The Women In The Window, A.J. Finn
If you are looking for a thriller to keep you on your toes during quarantine then this one is for you! “The Women In The Window” will have chills down your spin the entire time. It also is being turned into a movie so you can experience the story more than once.
9. Red, White & Royal Blue, Casey McQuiston
A rom-com for your enjoyment. Let’s face it we all need a little romance and a little comedy in our lives right now.
